Ingredients: Cultural Significance & Health Benefits
Blue Lily Flower (or Blue Lotus, Nymphaea caerulea): Blue Lily flowers contain two important psychoactive alkaloids: aporphine and nuciferine. These compounds are responsible for the hypnotic and sedating effects that make this plant a true entheogenic treasure. The ancient Egyptians believed that divinity resided within the roots, pads, and flowers of this magical, sacred plant.
The sacred blue lotus lily has been used to achieve trance-like states of euphoria and is known for its affinity with lucid dreaming. It helps free the mind and spirit from conditioning, revealing deep insights and new perspectives, while providing a soothing sense of joy.
Elderberry (Sambucus nigra) has been valued since the days of Hippocrates. Elderberry has been used in folk medicine to treat colds and flu - was used a lot in Native American medicine: they used it for fevers, to ease skin complaints, as a laxative and they fermented the berries to treat rheumatism. now, they are a dietary supplement to build strong immunity. All parts of the elder tree—bark, leaves, flowers, and berries—have long been recognized for their importance in traditional home medicine. Elderberries are especially noted for their high vitamin C content, which is three times that of an orange. They are commonly used to strengthen the immune system and are included in classic remedies for children and families. These remedies often combine elderberries with spices like cinnamon, clove, and ginger to alleviate flu symptoms and cure colds.
Blueberry (Vaccinium sect. Cyanococcus): Blueberries possess strong protective qualities, regardless of their form. They embody esoteric principles such as calm acceptance, peace, and a sense of security. Often, blueberry bushes are placed under doormats to ward off intruders and negative energy.
Blueberries are also a potent healing fruit. They are rich in anthocyanins and packed with vitamins, containing more antioxidants than cranberries, strawberries, plums, and raspberries. Blueberries are known to prevent bruises and help them heal faster. Due to their remarkable benefits for eye health, the Japanese often refer to blueberries as "the vision fruit."
Thai Basil (Ocimum basilicum): Basil has strong ties to money, love, protection and astral travel. However, in some parts of Europe, basil became associated with death, sacred to the dead - often placed in the hands of the deceased in order to secure safe passage to the Underworld. That's why Basil is seen as protective and can be placed around the home to protect against evil and harmful spells. In some folklore, basil is strewn across the floor as a protection charm because, Where Basil Lives, No Evil Can Live. Basil is commonly used to stimulate and soothe the stomach and intestinal activity, stomach cramps, nausea, indigestion, gas and bloating. Both Thai basil and sweet basil are varieties of the same species and belong to the same genus. The key differences between them are their flavour and appearance. We chose Thai basil for its distinct anise-liquorice flavour. The Thai basil used in our ferment is locally grown and freshly harvested, ensuring the highest life force and the best quality.
