As a dedicated mentor, I am passionate about empowering you to take charge of your well-being by creating your own healthful, living foods. This workshop series is designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to diversify your diet, strengthen your immune system, and reconnect you with the natural world.
It's widely recognised that gut health is foundational to overall well-being, and fermented foods play a vital role in restoring and maintaining a healthy gut microbiome. In these workshops, I will share practical tips for incorporating fermentation and cultured foods into your kitchen. You will learn to prepare your living foods, integrate them into your meals, and diversify your diet. I will also share my personal fermentation philosophy, complete with practical pairings and recipes to inspire you to create your unique fermented drinks and cultured foods from nature's ingredients, making the process of fermenting all kinds of living foods enjoyable and rewarding.
In an era where personal health is paramount, understanding our food choices is more crucial than ever. Fermentation and food culturing are traditional skills and invaluable knowledge that are essential for thriving and savouring life, as well as appreciating the incredible abundance that nature provides. Fermentation is an easy, safe, and delicious method for preserving food, using simple, natural ingredients: plants, sugars or salts, and the beneficial lactic acid bacteria (a diverse group that includes Lactobacillus). You will learn how to cultivate wild yeasts using everyday ingredients from the grocery store or even your garden, all without the need for additives or synthetic chemicals.
Our workshops delve into the art of creating rich, flavorful ferments through detailed, step-by-step guidance. Whether you're working with plants from your garden or produce from your trusted grocers, you'll master techniques that will transform your relationship with food and instil the confidence to ferment like a seasoned pro. This series is an invitation to reconnect with nature through the diverse botanicals and spices available in our region, helping you activate your probiotic palate and craft a meal plan uniquely tailored to your preferences.
We'll explore the practical techniques for creating your delicious concoctions, including traditional ferments such as tepache and kvass. This series serves as a foundational guide for aspiring fermenters, providing you with the essential information and techniques to create your distinctive brews using herbal botanicals and spices. You will be amazed by how simple it is to make your natural drinks and will be inspired by the abundance of nature surrounding you.
